Community-Wide Read

This year's featured book is Nature's Best Hope: A New Approach to Conservation That Starts in Your Yard by Douglas W. Tallamy. In the book Dr. Tallamy urges homeowners to take environmental action into their own hands by planting native plants beneficial to insects, birds and other wildlife.

This project will culminate on Friday evening, June 7 at Lakeside High School with a presentation by this renowned author and authority on the topic. The event will be free for all Ashtabula County residents thanks to financial support from the Robert S. Morrison Foundation and the Ashtabula Foundation.

The  Harbor-Topky Memorial Library will kick off this event on Tuesday, January 16, 10:00 am until noon. Here you can find additional information about the book and the native plant movement.
